@sHART1780 targeting is sort of a myth, if u do pushups you use your entire chest, inner, outer, upper, lower etc… same thing with abs.

Why are her thighs so big? I don’t want those kind of muscles…

  13. hhhk20 says:

This guy is a joke!!! The problem with the personal training industry is that most people searching for a trainer or training information are unfortunately very ignorant about how the body works. Consequently, anyone who has even a modicum of physiological or kinesiological information can pass themselves off as an “expert”. Regardless of whether this guy authored a book or not, most of these exercises are NOT ‘targeting” the core.

  14. hhhk20 says:

The last exercise using the kettlebell is a convoluted monstrosity of an exercise. Holding up the kettlebell does much more to tire out the shoulders and strain one’s lower back, than target the “core”. A deconditioned person should never even attempt this exercise. That criticism aside, the main problem with the exercise is that one’s hip flexors are doing most of the work. Not the abdominals.

  15. hhhk20 says:

Did you notice that the woman performing the kettlebell exercise at the end is unable to achieve maximum hip flexion without the help of her left hand pushing her up? What does that tell you? It tells you that the exercise is too difficult for her to perform properly. It also tells you that her “core” is NOT being targeted. Although her core muscles ARE being isometrically contracted, they are NOT being “targeted”!

  16. hhhk20 says:

Your biceps are being isometrically contracted when you hold onto the handles of a bicycle. Do you think that riding a bike will exercise them as effectively as performing an elbow flexion exercise (biceps curls)? Of course not! All the exercises shown here are just as ineffective for working the abs as riding a bike is for the biceps. Crunches are infinitely better. Even standard sit-ups are better than what he proposes here. They still work the hip flexors, but at least they are safer.
