The BEST LOWER ABS Exercise

    @infinityali Cardio is short for Cardio Vascular, which is exercise that raises your heart rate and breathing, therefore increasing blood flow to your muscles.

    upping your cals? If you continue to lift and/or train, yes, those cals will be converted to muscle and if you're trying to gain muscle, there ya go!

    lower abs? lots of plank holds and moves where you need to lift your legs up and down targeting the lower, not upper, abs

    This exercice is great for iliupsoas and rectus femoris. The abdominal muscles do not flex or raise the legs at all. They cant, since they have they have their in the pelvis and their origin in at the lower ribs. Not even the obliques or the transversus muscle will get any training. If you want to activate the abdominals you have to flex your torso, to do that you will have to raise your legs much higher.

    I recommend that you at least check out wikipedia before deleting my comment.
