Just follow the basics of healthy eating which apply to pregnant and non-pregnant women alike – and that is to follow the food pyramid. If you make sure to get 5-10 servings of fruits or vegetables per day, hard to go wrong.
An easy way to figure out which foods to enjoy only in moderation:
- If you figure out what food group it belongs to
- you read some of the ingredients, or know what they are
- if the ingredient list includes anything you already have in your house if you were going to cook/bake/prepare the same thing
Drink plenty of water, and mind the sodium intake (if you eat less processed foods as have to to avoid the ingredients you know how to say or know what they are, already well on your way to avoiding a lot of processed foods).
