it is beneficial because it works your muscles that youll need during labour not to mention at the end of pregnancy when your bones and muscles are struggling with the extra weight and baby. i didnt exercise at all with my first i done nothing throughout the pregnancy and ate too much, i gained 2 stone but it was all on my bump so i was very lucky, but i was very unfit and took a long time to lose the last bit of weight after i gave i did increase my fitness when i was determined to loose the weight,im 7 months pregnant with my second and feel very fit as i exercise a few times a week with this pregnancy as well as looking after my toddler and lots of walking. i feel better for it and have had an easier smoother pregnancy, im not sure if its related but it could be. it helps you get back into shape after the and loose the weight easier, it is definately keeping fit during pregnancy. if you didnt beforehand then dont do anything extreme, just walking or swimming every day would be enough , i use an exercise dvd specifically for pregnancy and its done wonders for me already. being fit helps with the too and can help speed it up. gaining weight is natural and of it, it will come off after the and its definately rewarding to guarantee you a healthy baby that is getting all the nutrition they need. good luck.
Sure you can just be careful. Never get out of breath as this is not good for your babies oxygen supply (baby gets kind out of breath too). But if you can talk normally while exercising its OK.
