Pec Exercise: Incline Dumbbell Press

This variation of the basic dumbbell press is a great mass builder also, just another twist to keep your muscles guessing. If you dont have an incline bench you can make one by securely tying a 2×8 to a coffeetable as I have done here. This exercise is best done with a spotter. If you are working out alone, use lighter weight and higer reps for safety. As withany dumbbell exercise, form is key if you want to maximize your muscle building efforts and minimize the chance of injury. Don’t use too much weight, if you can’t do the exercise slowly then you need to go lighter. Count aloud “one onethousand, two onethousand, three onethousand” on the way up and the way down, if you cant do this on this exercise then you are using too much weight. The reason this exercise method maximizes your muscle growth is because it confines the motion to the muscle you are trying to work out, if your body squirms, swings, and kicks, all you are doing is taking the focus away from the muscle you are trying to exercise. Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding.     how is that wrong. Its very simple. Closer grips presses work your tri’s and inner chest. Incline works your upper and decline your lower

    Whenn you press a ballpoint pen 500 times, will your thumb be stronger?

    In other words: When you are able to do about 30 reps of a given exercise, you are well into training muscle endurance, not strength.

    You can train your pectorals and they will become bigger, but they won’t show as much when they are covered by lots of fat.

    Hey Muhsroomhead, That is a perfect example of a product to avoid – one making ridiculous claims. No whey protein powder can possibly have anything to do with “staggering gains”. Please buy a respectable, no nonsense whey protein. Well, they do have a point. If you mix dairy whey with peanut butter and eat it all day long you WILL gain lots of mass but it will be ALL FAT AND NO MUSCLE!
