From Hoodia Gordonii to P57
The (CSIR) in South Africa managed to isolate the hunger-suppressing chemical component in Hoodia Gordonii, now known as P57. Then they patented it in 1997.
It has been established that the P57 molecule found in pure Kalahari Hoodia Gordonii works by mimicking the effect that glucose has on nerve cells in the brain in effect fooling the body into thinking it is full, even when it is not, thus surpressing the appetite.
A success story
Hoodia Gordonii was discovered and used by the Bushman San tribe from the Kalahari desert in Southern Africa, since prehistoric times. They chewed the bitter Hoodia plant (called “Xhoba”) twice a day to suppress hunger and thirst during long hunting trips. They go without food for 24 hours after eating Hoodia while hunting for food in the harsh Kalahari desert. It is therefore also known to maintain a high energy level.
Independent tests conducted in Leicester, England on overweight people using Hoodia have proved that over a 15-day period food intake was reduced by 1000 calories a day.
Within one hour after taking 2 capsules of Hoodiala, Hoodia suppresses the appetite for around 4-6 hours. Hoodia also enhances a user’s mood therefore a someone will not become irritable or weak while using it.
Safe
In Southern Africa Hoodia is classified as a foodstuff, which is testimony to how safe the product really is. The San tribe used Hoodia Gordonii for thousands of years with no side effects. For the past two years Hoodia Gordonii have been commercially available and used by tens of thousands of people in the USA, Canada, UK and a few countries in Europe.
