    Hi @bouncingsoul100 – And thanks for your question. If your goal is to gain weight and muscle, I’d stick to isotonic movements that require your muscle length to vary throughout the exercises (Unless your movement is really restricted due to injury, illness, physical ability etc…). Focus on your largest muscle groups first, so you activate the most muscle fibre upfront e.g. deadlift or bench press. Of course, there’s more to it than just this, but I hope this answers your question. Thanks.

    Insanity is really helping with some definition. Even though there is a lot less resistance work, I am feeling a lot stronger. It is like a deep muscle workout, if that makes any sense.

    I probably still have 6 more months of hard work before I meet my goal. 90 days turned into 360 for me. I think that the crazy P90X results that Beachbody markets are either slightly misleading (aka the people have used P90X for multiple rounds), or the people were hardcore athletes before they started P90x and the muscle was already there when they lost the fat. Building muscle really takes time.

    By the way, I still check into your blog on a regular basis. You crack me up! Enjoy the Renaissance Festival and make sure to get one of those giant turkey drumsticks (that is what they have at the Michigan Renaissance Festival, maybe Ohio too…) Even though its deepfried, its still turkey right?

    Any exercise will build muscle. And since kids need exercise than it stunt their growth.

    The theory was that lifting weights would student their growth. not true, though heavy lifting for kids might not be safe for a couple of reasons.

    bodyweight exercises are great for kids…along with running, climbing, wrestling, and any other large muscle movement.

    Kids play as much now so exercise has become even more It mean they have to play though. They just need to move!
