    this video is bullshit. i call it “cookie-cutter” working out. for example it states in the vid not to bend the torso as you come down, but to keep it straight….. bs. very very very hard to do. few people can do that. also, the legs dont respond to lunges perfectly like this video stated. variations in leg length, and how your tendons insert will play a role in how you do them and how you feel the workout working for you. ive looked at a few of these vids and theyre bs.

    @ninjakick1983 You have to be very careful running though, running on hard ground with incorrect footwear can seriously damage your ankles..

    true, but only partially true. It depends whether you have ‘weak’ bones or not. A lot of people can run wearing any shoes and not get injured at all. Running is a NATURAL way to exercise, like swimming, gymnastics (Tarzan stuff, if you know what I mean). It always gives the best benefits. Running gives you no fat and lean legs. lunges are mainly to increase muscle mass in the legs and that’s not always sexy. (sorry for my English, not a native speaker)

    @kingdlicious if you run fast and for a short period of time (like 20-30 minutes) then you might get more muscle in the legs. but if you run slowly or in a moderate pace for about 45 or more minutes then generally your legs don’t get bigger, they actually lose a bit of muscle tissue and a lot of fat. (on a side note, you can protect losing muscle by eating carbohydrates immediately after running, but you don’t have to of course

    @kingdlicious ninjakick1983 already answered this question.. I’ll just add this: Doing whatever sport you want to be good at is how you make your body adapt. Your body will optimize itself for whatever sport you do. So you never HAVE to exercise in any other way than through your own sport, this will make your body optimal for the specific kind of stress that your body experiences. IF your thighs get bigger, you can bet your butt that that is what your body needs to work more efficiently.
