Oversimplification. Variety is important. More smaller range of motion exercises can amount to the same or more work. Intensity of exertion is another factor. Some small range of motion exercises take a lot of exertion.

  2. fireriver29 says:

Multi joint, high intensity, vigorous movement, religiously. w/ some yoga. I love it!!!

  3. TaylorRunkle says:

What about isometrics? You are in a fixed position, but you are certainly working just as hard.

  4. missogi says:

a very convincing explanation :) thanks, Yuri!

  5. brianv00 says:

No, if he had said “FULL BODY IS BETTER LOL” then it would be oversimplification. This video really doesn’t need to be any more complicated.

  6. sajibaby1 says:

  7. pepproni says:

Belly “fat” loss. Key word here is fat. How do you reduce fat?…burn calories!
What if I wanted to get “stronger” in my abdominal area???

  8. yelkaim1 says:

Then do “ab/core” specific exercises to get stronger. Just remember that they won’t help you lose fat in that area.

  9. snowww321 says:

  10. znick46 says:

    Thanks! Good info!

  15. dakporto says:

you can’t do that kind of calculus. force must be in newtons, so weight u havemust be in kilos and distance in meters… you haven’t made the proper conversion… in fact your body burns much more energy than that that you have calculated…
    thanks anyway

  16. exyle0 says:

    @dakporto:
It’s not Calculus. It’s Physics. It is simplified so that viewers can understand the context. It’s humorous that you would disregard this in order to try and educate someone who openly states (on several occasions) that he isn’t using proper units of measurement in his example, merely to make himself more easily understood.

    Good job, Mr. Elkaim!

  17. TEAMROCKETSAM says:

@snowww321 man, people just need to listen. never does he talk about getting strong abs. everyone gets confused fat burn, with ab training. if you want to burn fat, you spend more energy, thus burning more fat. if you want “strong abs” then you do isolation training on your abs. crunches, sittups, leg raises, row sits, ceiling touches, plank, twisting sittups, bicycles. or anything else that actually directly forces you to use your abs.

  18. ashrakay says:

  23. silent9173 says:

But you need calories to build muscle – if you do cardio you lose all your upper body muscle lol – you cant win.
