Isn't it incredible the lengths people will go to to avoid simply eating a balanced diet and exercising to lose weight? Who would seriously think that eating cookies is a healthy way to lose weight? I'm skeptical of any diet that requires people to temporarily sustain themselves on a certain (often seemingly unhealthy) food to lose weight: What will they do when they return to a normal diet? More often than not, they end up falling back into the same bad habits that made them obese in the first place. Losing weight needs to be done as part of a shift toward a healthier lifestyle that is sustainable in the long run. In my experience, if something sounds too good to be true, it's generally because it is.

Wow, very interesting post and REALLY adorable pictures. Possibly because i don't pay a ton of attention but I've never heard about all the benefits of exercise during pregnancy. I've heard you CAN do it, as thought it's more of a “if you must.” It's great to hear there are so many benefits, plus I've never heard of someone being back to their pre-pregnancy weight SO quick!

not a good idea to try and lose weight during pregnancy. You may lose weight out of your control, however, with the nausea and vomiting that you may get. I lost 15 pounds thanks to that (well, no thanks cause I ended up looking horrible). But one of the best things you can do during pregnancy for you and your baby is to exercise! It WILL make you feel better (the first trimester you will be so tired it will shock you), and will keep those unnecessary pounds at bay. The actual FAT you do want to gain is towards the end of you third trimester, where breastfeeding will suck it right off of you! But only a few pounds. WIth my first baby, I was able to exercise all the way up to my due date. I felt so much better after and was able to manage the pain much easier. I was a member of curves and their equipment worked perfectly the entire time. and when I needed to make modifications (that tummy let you do everything!) I was able to. But whatever works for you, just do exercise if you body and doctor allows for it. You will not regret it! In fact we all wish we could while we are pregnant currently on bed rest with my second pregnancy – 8wks to go), so do it for those of us circumstances just allow it! and CONGRATULATIONS!!
