    my grandfather had one of the best bodys Ive ever seen and that was just through working everyday from a kid down a mine .
    he was in his 70s and most people when they dig the garden stop now and then he didnt , he was like a machine.
    the sort of hard work jobs people used to do in the past using hand tools were great exercise

    No, you should lower your food intake. Your body is still in recovery and needs nutrients for that recovery. If you lower you intake and don't provide the system the building blocks it needs, the body will find them else where.

    ie. If it wants to build muscle and doesn't have the blood stream nutrients to do so, it will start breakdown existing muscle for build blocks.

    Also, if your are getting a good 8 hours of sleep every night (actual sleep not laying in bed thinking about life) there is no reason you cannot be active the other days in between workouts. Cary K. at CC does 4 Xfits per week, and runs on the days in between except for Sundays.
