I have been doing these exercises for a week and have seen great improvement. It has been a godsend to find your video. I am able to raise my arm much higher already. My right shoulder problem began at the end of Dec. 2009 and now has started in the left as well. My next issue will be reaching further behind my back. I am a 59 year old female who had an acute immune reaction to the H1N1 vaccine.

Is it important to apply heat before doing these exercises? Also, what causes a frozen shoulder?

  6. LebedMethod says:

No you do not have to apply heat before doing these exercises, actually you should ice after if there is any soreness. Frozen Shoulder: Is extreme loss of Range of Motion, caused by non movement atter an injury, surgery or various other reasons.. A painful rotator cuff with limited motion, your arm literally becomes locked into the wrong position.

  7. LebedMethod says:

Moving the shoulder causes pain, most people will not move it which is incorrect. Movement is the way to correct it, however incorrect movement can tear scar tissue that has developed and make movement more limited. The longer you don’t use your arm the worse your frozen should will get. It is never too late to regain your flexibility.

Hi, I’ve just been diagnosed with frozen shoulder and I am delighted to find your video! Your manner is encouraging and the exercises are just right for me, as my right shoulder/upper back is incredibly painful when I move my arm. Thank you so much and wish me luck!

Remember to go slow, smooth with resistance and if you have any pain at any time STOP. You can always come back to it. Look for the other exercises I do for frozen shoulder as well and incorporate them in your program. Don’t try to do too much at one time, pain is not good.

thank you for saving me money on physio ;)

I am a retired RN. It is a fact that frozen shoulder is NOT caused by not moving your shoulder after injury/surgery. Sometimes one can do everything including exercise, and still get frozen shoulder. There is no proven cause as to why one get its. I have it, and at this stage do only stretching exercises because those which cause pain will cause more injury. Thanks for letting me post.

Thank you for your post, your valued information is very much appreciated.

Thank you so much for this. I have to show this to my mom. She’s suffering the early stages of frozen shoulder. It breaks my heart to see her cry at night because of the unbearable pain brought by frozen shoulder :( Looking for ways to help her

Thank you so much, I have been in pain for 6 months, and just went and got a diagnoses of Frozen Shoulder. I found your video, and started doing the exercises, and this morning my shoulder felt MUCH better than it has felt in about a month. Still going to go get the physical therapy my doc recommended, but I will be doing these exercises as well !

  23. LebedMethod says:

I know this and tell any one who writes to me that they must also have PT along with any exercise program. Also on many of my youtubes for Frozen shoulder I mention this an in my book and all our training programs this is also a must. But thank you for the reminder. We have a medical director on staff on our program, so for sure all health care professionals are involved

  24. MelsieH67 says:

Okay, I just loved this. :) Thanks for a great vid. Challenging but with plenty of reminders not to tear scar tissue, etc. And the music was fun. :p Not for nothing, but some PT instructional vids make it look like the instructor is on his or her way to a funeral and just happened to want to stretch first. This one was fun w/o being annoying. Am doing these each day. Thank you. :)

  25. LebedMethod says:

Thank you please watch the others too

  26. LebedMethod says:

HI not at all you have to watch the other parts of the Lymphatic opening, it is broken down into many sections, so watch them all.definately have to do the rotation as well it is is the next section.

What if you can’t lift the arm up at all like that?

  32. mistify says:

I have done a ton of it in my former career fighting.

Usually it is just one person working with you on specific exercises and stretches to work on the injured areas and then they will want you to do them at home as well.

If you tell them you are in Karate them MAY say it is OK to go just for stretching and minor things, depending how bad your injury is. Many do not know much about Karate and do not know that much of the stretching we do is very close or the same as what you do in Physical Therapy unless they use an Electric Tens(sp?) machine or heating and ice pads.

Any ways, follow the Physical directions and talk to them about your Karate and what you could or could not do.

I almost always went to class still even if it was just to stretch and assist teaching.
