Effective Weight Loss Plan?Many fitness experts will tell you that if you are looking for an effective weight loss plan you will need to have a proper nutrition and an exercise regime.  Most will also tell you to be careful and not fall for all those fad diets.  They are partially correct but what they are missing is one ‘key’ ingredient.  Before I go into it, let me give you the effective weight loss strategy on nutrition and exercise.

Nutrition
Research has shown that proper nutrition is one of the keys to a successful weight loss.  Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day.  The reason breakfast is essential for an effective weight loss is because it kick starts your metabolism.  Your metabolism slows down when you are not feeding your body which means it slows down when you are asleep so to wake up your metabolism you would give it fuel to start it up.

Did you know that it takes 3,500 calories to gain or lose a pound?  So if you want to lose 1 pound a week, you simply need to consume 500 calories less per day.  This can be done by planning out your meals for the day.  I usually take between 15-20 minutes the night before and put together the meals that I will be eating the next day.  This does take a bit or organization but is your health worth 15 minutes of meal planning?  You can be the judge.

Exercise
As with any exercise plan, you need to consult a physician before you jump right in.  With exercise, your main goal is to raise your rest metabolic rate.  Your rest metabolic rate (RMR) is the rate at which you burn energy or calories at rest.  There are many sites on the internet that will show you how to calculate this number, so I won’t go into details here.  In order to lose body fat, you need to gain lean muscle.  The amount of body fat being burned is directly related to the amount of muscle that you body can sustain.  Also, muscle burns calories much more efficient than fat does.  So in your workouts, you need to add strength training into your circuit as that is very important for effective weight loss.  After a strength training exercise, your metabolism gets fired up and in return, burns more calories.  Strength training is not only essential to weight loss, it is also important for the overall health and well being.

Now that we have nutrition and exercise out of the way, I will tell you the key ingredient that has either made a person succeed in their weight loss or fail miserably.

Mindset
The secret is your ‘Mindset’!  Yes, your mindset is critical so if you have a poor mindset, you will have troubles eating and exercising right.  So before you begin yet another weight loss program, please do me a favor and get your mindset ready and put the belief in yourself that you can and will succeed in losing weight.  Developing the proper motivational mindset, I believe, is the ultimate weapon to beating the bulge.  You see, your mindset for fat loss will be your biggest ally or your greatest enemy.  Looking for the quick fix on fat loss will eventually make you give up because your mindset is not on long term weight loss and soon you will return to your old bad habits.  You have to realize that weight loss is not going to be easy so set yourself some short term goals like “I will lose 1 pound a week” and find a way to achieve it.
