@Guitar101Ramstein Thank, I really appreciate it. It’s usually my pinky though, it’s just real hard to get down lol.
@Guitar101Ramstein OH! And thank you, I’ve been working on this for 3 hours now, and I’ve been able to do it a little faster. I appreciate the video.
thanks for the great video.
i’ve got a problem, my fingers keep touching the bottom string while holding onto the string above. do you have any tips on how to not touch the bottom string while holding onto the note that u need??
@jinhui86 you have to arch your fingers and play on your finger tips.
Ramstein is sick
How are you picking during this exercise? down then up…..etc.?
just sayin thanks for the vid, i severed some tendons in my wrist about a year ago and haven’t been able to play for a long while, just started getting feeling back in my nerves so i picked my guitar up last night to find out i am complete rubbish again, these seem like the perfect exercises to rebuild my dex, str and flexibility. I actually wish someone had showed me this when i was a noob, guess that’s what i get for being self taught lol

Great video. How are you picking? Up and down?
great video but ahhhh my fingers refuse to stretch that far. can i slide down while playing?
nice
hot much time it will take to your finger to get complete d`exterity?? 100%….
and how much time practice per day???
@Loading17 The amount of time it takes for your fingers to get complete dexterity depends on the amount of time you practice.
How do you think Eddie Van Halen, Slash and Steve Vai all became the shredders that they are today? Practice, practice, practice. They breathed guitar, dreamed guitar, lived guitar.
Unless you’re Hendrix, you need to practice often to get good.
I practice for about an hour and a half each day and I’ve seen some great improvement since 5 months ago when I began.
wow.. tnx
@jimbo0u812 You could probably play as well as Angus with lots of practice.
Never be a Steve Vai though
thanks friend
to be a master at everything take 10 years so about 10000 hours of play.If you play 3 hours a day it will take 10 year if you play 6 hours a day it will take you 5 years to become a master at guitar
i have a question..
you keep your finger in place all the time?
you do one string and you remain the finger there, you do the other notes with your fingers remaining down after right?
@cinnawaffls
This is good advice……and pay attention to sound.
nice video, I would also recommend that people stretch their fingers before playing……bend your fingers slightly over backwards, but easily, then bend the other way, at the wrist. Hold for a couple of seconds each time, this helps to prevent nerve problems etc.
Mel Bay has a nice book for these exercises, it’s called “Guitar Technic” by Roger Filiberto……
Great video, thank you for this exercise, especially the tip to look at your fingers.. my fingers keep going up at the 3rd and 4th finger!
Training to keep it close now.. that might be the reason I have trouble changing between chords..!
Learning to play (acoustic) guitar for 4 days now and I never expected to progress this fast just through the internet
my pinky is weak and it doesn’t look like a proper pinky. i don’t know why but it’s bothering me. how to strengthen a pinky?
@DivinusLumina92 This exercise is going to exercise all fingers, including the pinky finger. Also, try playing through scales using only the little finger (and try it with only one of the other fingers at a time as well) etc.
I’ve seen many tutorials for this exercise but your’s is the best, thanks for telling me not to raise my fingers, it’s hard but now I am aware of it and I’ll try not to do it
I’m thinking about getting an acoustic guitar but I’m already 14 and I have no idea how to play it, is it possible to just learn how to play from online videos or should I get someone to give me lessons
